MAVRI Postdoctoral Grants for Physician-Scientists
About the program
The purpose of the MAVRI’s Postdoctoral employment grants track is to promote in-depth training for physicians following the residency period, in which they will acquire significant training, skills, and research experience in outstanding research laboratories in Israel, that will enable them to develop a career as an independent physician-scientist, while establishing and reinforcing the physician-scientist position in Israel’s hospitals as an accepted and appreciated employment and promotion track, with the aim of increasing the number of physician-scientists in Israel and supporting their ability to build a career that merges clinical work with profound biomedical research.
Therefore, this program is mainly intended for physician-scientists who have an interest in future medical research activity, and a preference to conduct such training at a suitable research institution in Israel. It is expected that at the end of the training period, the physician-scientist will be able to establish a research laboratory in hospitals or research institutions as independent researchers.
